We are a multi-disciplinary group dedicated to designing and executing novel approaches to surgical health services research. We meet every other Wednesday for project development and mentoring. Our members include surgeons, economists, statisticians, and health services researches. Additionally, we collaborate with researchers outside of Dartmouth, including experts at the Food and Drug Administration, the Patient Centered Outcomes Research Institute, and leaders from across the country in surgical health services research.
Our group organizes the yearly Surgical Trainees Advancing Research Symposium (STARS) to promote healthy competition between surgical trainees and stimulate interest in surgical health services research.
Our work is funded by the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ), PCORI, the FDA, and the National Institutes of Health.
